I think of you, and it makes me angry.

I think of you, and it makes me sad.

I think of you, and I love you.

And this is the space, between you and me.

The space that is unwillingly there in our physical disparity.

The space that is there because my life is disparate from yours.

The space that is there because you think of the world different than me.

The space between what I want you to be and what you are.

The space between what you need and what I am.

The space between what I want and what you will give.

And in the emptiness of the intervening space, I still feel my love.

I make the empty of my heart a safe

A strong box to keep my love warm for you against the day it is needed.

Mayhaps not this life. Mayhaps not the next. Someday.

I will be there. What more can I do?

I think of you, and I love you.

I think of you, and it makes me sad.

I think of you, and it makes me angry.

Friend whether you like it or not,

Skylos
